Exeter is the agricultural center of Penobscot County. Located approximately 20 miles west of Bangor with our community having a population of about 1,062. It is a great place to raise a family!
Town Office Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Exeter has entered into an Intra-Local agreement with Garland. They have agreed to process all of Exeter's residents BMV needs until the town office staff are trained to do it in house. Garland hours of operation:
Tuesday: 10-4:30
Wednesday: 10-6:00
Thursday: 9-4:30
Friday: 9-4:30

The Municipality of Exeter administers a General Assistance program for the support of the poor. (a copy of this ordinance is available at the Town Office)
